You'll also find ALPHA Katana 4-1/2" diamond blade for dry cutting, ALPHA Porcellana wet blade for porcelain, marble and granite tile, ALPHA Libero 4" and 4-1/2" marble blades and laser welded core bits in 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" sizes, spike discs and spike wheels for surface preparation, and a full range of diamond hand pads and PVA polishing pads for finish work.
Key Features and Applications
Alpha blades and bits are designed to fit a particular material and cutting technique. The Porcellana wet blade is designed to work on dense porcelain without chipping at the edge. The Libero marble blades are designed to cut cleanly on softer stone, where edge chipping is a bigger concern. The laser core bits use a continuous weld along the segment, which prevents the bit from breaking under the heat and pressure of drilling through concrete or masonry.
The spike discs and spike wheels prepare and finish surfaces by removing old adhesive and smoothing out rough concrete prior to polishing. The diamond hand pad kit comes in grits ranging from coarse to fine. It is used to hand-polish a rough cut to a polished finish, which is important when working on an edge that a machine can't reach.
Accessories and Tool Compatibility
Alpha accessories are designed to integrate seamlessly with the tools you already use. The core bit extensions, both 6" and 10", for SDS+ core bits allow for deeper penetration without changing tools during the job. PVA sanding discs and felt wheels are attached to flexible backer pads and Velcro pads to achieve controlled, even finishes on stone and tile. The AIR-830 pneumatic polisher is used in conjunction with the felt wheels and PVA pads to complete the polishing of marble and granite work.
Choosing the Right Alpha Tool for Your Needs
Start with the material. Porcelain and glass require a different blade than granite or marble. The wrong blade will shorten the blade's lifespan and make cutting harder. When drilling, the diameter of your core bit should correspond to the size of the fixture or pipe you are drilling. A core bit extension should be used if the wall or slab to be drilled is thicker than your standard bit length. For finishing, work through the diamond hand pad grits in order. Do not skip the mid-steps, as each grit will remove the scratches left by the previous grit.
Unlike generic diamond tooling, Alpha blades and bits are designed to meet the needs of stone, tile, and concrete cutting applications. This is why they hold an edge longer under repeated use.
